Kech Travel Bus

Kech Travel Bus — driving team

Ourdrivers

Kech Travel Bus employs **18 professional drivers**, each holding a category D licence and a professional driver’s card, trained in Marrakech by Youssef Amghar, lead driver since 2014.

French- and English-speaking drivers, Spanish for six of them, available 7 days a week from 7am to 11pm.

Who are the Kech Travel Bus drivers?

18 professional drivers operate the 22-vehicle fleet from the Guéliz office in Marrakech. Each one is an employee of Kech Travel Bus SARL, not a subcontractor, which keeps the same driver assigned from the first day of a tour to the last.

Hicham Benjelloun, operations manager since 2015, assigns each driver to confirmed jobs and plans the daily rotation of the 22 vehicles.

Full detail on the company and how it operates sits on the dedicated Kech Travel Bus page.

What qualifications does Moroccan law require of a driver?

A category D licence and a professional driver’s card are mandatory to carry paying passengers in Morocco. Dahir n° 1-63-260 sets this requirement, enforced by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.

Tourist transport licence n° 04/2013/MRK covers the company; each driver also holds an individual professional card on top of it.

Rachid El Ouazzani, workshop supervisor since 2013, runs the six-monthly technical inspection of every vehicle assigned to a driver.

What languages do our drivers speak?

All 18 drivers speak French and English. Six of them also speak Spanish, and every driver uses Moroccan Arabic and Amazigh, useful in Berber villages of the High Atlas such as Imlil or Setti Fatma.

A request for a Spanish-speaking driver is confirmed at the quote stage, at no extra charge.

How are our drivers trained?

Youssef Amghar, lead driver since 2014, trains every new driver before a first solo assignment. Training covers mountain driving on passes such as Tizi n’Tichka, luggage loading and welcoming French-, English- and Spanish-speaking passengers. Every new driver shadows a senior colleague on the first assignments.

Rates for a service with a trained driver stay fixed per vehicle, listed on the hire rates page.

A practical guide answers questions on day-to-day use of a driver, tipping at the end of a service included.

What does a Kech Travel Bus driver do, and not do?

The driver drives, loads the luggage and advises on useful stops, but does not act as a guide. The tour guide card is a separate qualification, issued independently by Moroccan tourism authorities.

A driver alone suits transfers and intercity routes; a private driver for the day adds a single driver kept across several consecutive days.

The private-driver-for-the-day service details this offer and its booking terms.

Where do our drivers take passengers?

Our drivers cover the whole of Morocco from Marrakech, from the Atlantic coast to the Merzouga desert. Full detail on intercity routes and the matching fleet sits on the dedicated pages, reachable from every quote request.

Frequently asked questions

Can the same driver be requested for several bookings?

Yes, on request at the quote stage. The same driver stays assigned to a regular client as long as his schedule allows it. Travel agencies under an annual contract get a named driver from the third monthly transfer onward.

Does the driver stay on site during a day trip?

Yes, he waits with the vehicle at the excursion site. He watches over luggage left on board and stays reachable by phone. The return time is set freely with the group, with no fixed schedule imposed.

What happens if the driver is unavailable on departure day?

A replacement driver takes over the assignment within 90 minutes. The vehicle and the itinerary stay identical to the signed quote. The Guéliz office informs the client by phone as soon as a driver change becomes necessary.

Is tipping the driver mandatory?

No, it stays at the client’s discretion. The listed price already covers the driver, the fuel and the tolls, with no share set aside for a tip. A dedicated guide details common practice on this gesture in Morocco.
